Air traffic resumed at Srinagar airport on Saturday after remaining suspended for two days hours due to heavy snowfall and poor visibility.

An official said that flight operations started at the airport today after the improvement in the weather and visibility.

He said one flight was cancelled in the morning, but as the weather improved air traffic resumed.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter Srinagar airport authorities wrote:“Due to heavy snowfall the kashmir valley was cut from rest of world due to closure of national highway and cancellation of flights.”

“In view of above, state authorities of J&k in coordination with Indian Air Force arranged an aircraft to airlift the students appearing for Gate Examination,” Srinagar airport authorities tweeted.

“Total 179 number of students departed today afternoon for jammu by C-17 aircraft from Srinagar Airport,” they added.

“All arrangements were made for these students at Srinagar Airport by the authorities of Srinagar Airport,” said Srinagar airport authorities on Twitter.
