A Budgam Court Saturday sent Huriyat (G) leader and Muslim League Chief Masarat Alam Bhat to jail for another ten days on judicial remand. Bhat was shifted to Srinagar’s Central jail by the police later.

According to the reports received by a local news agency, KNS, Bhat was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam in connection with the First Information Report registered against him under section 153,120 of Ranbir Penal Code and 13 ULA.

The reports further informed that the court has sent Bhat for 10 days additional police custody.

Talking to KNS general secretary Muslim League Abdul Ahad Parra said that Bhat is suffering from ‘acute knee pain’ and that the party had today applied for the bail of the later but was rejected by the court. “Bhat has been detained on false charges so that his will could be broken but these tactics would undermine our firm belief and we will continue to strive for the just cause.” Parra further said that the International organizations for Human Rights must come forward and take remedial measures so that justice could be detained Muslim league chief.
