SRINAGAR: Dr Haji Atiqullah, a veteran medical practitioner fondly known across North Kashmir as Ali Jaan, passed away on Wednesday, February, 04 at the age of 95, family sources confirmed.
Born in 1931 at Batpora in Sopore, Dr Atiqullah dedicated several decades of his life to the medical profession, serving patients across Sopore and other parts of North Kashmir. Over the years, he became a familiar and trusted name for generations, particularly at a time when access to medical care in the region was limited.
At the time of his death, he was residing in Hyderpora, Srinagar, where he breathed his last around 2 pm after a brief illness due to pneumonia.
Family members said his Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at 7 pm today in Hyderpora, after which he will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.
Dr Atiqullah is remembered not only for his long medical service but also for his humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his patients, earning him widespread respect across North Kashmir.
