SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday said that the administration has put in place all necessary arrangements for smooth Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar.
Speaking to reporters, Garg said preparations were underway at Bakshi Stadium, where rehearsals for cultural programmes have already begun with enthusiastic participation from schoolchildren.
He said illumination of government buildings across the city was also in progress to mark the national occasion. Calling Republic Day an important event, Garg said all departments had been directed to ensure celebrations at their respective offices and institutional levels.
The Divisional Commissioner further said Srinagar was witnessing major civic and infrastructural improvements under the Smart City Mission, with several public service and development projects nearing completion ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
