SRINAGAR: Peoples Conference, J&K Apni party and Congress all said they didn’t raise Article 370 as it is sub-judice in court.
Speaking to media persons after the Prime Minister’s all-party meeting, Peoples Conference’s Muzafar Baig said, “It was a cordial and very dignified meeting. We were in agreement to work together for democracy and for promotion national cause.”
He said the demand for restoration of statehood was raised by many. “He (Prime Minister) said that they will consider restoration of statehood. The demand was raised overwhelmingly.”
He said the government of India will hold elections after the delimitation exercise was completed. “There was no timeline given.”
Meanwhile, PC Chairman Sajad Lone said that he doesn’t wish to speak in the media because whatever he had t raise he told the prime minister.
“We came out quite positive. There will be some delivery for the people of J&K,” Lone said.
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President and former minister Altaf Bukhari said they didn’t raise Article3 370 as it is subjudice in court.
“The delimitation exercise was discussed and the prime minister assured us that after delimitation exercise gets over, the assembly elections will take place,” Bukhari told media persons after the all-party meeting.
“The talks were held in a good atmosphere today. The Prime Minister heard our issues of all leaders. He (Prime Minister) said that the election process will begin when the delimitation process finishes,” Bukhari said.
“The PM asked all to participate in the delimitation process. We have been assured that this is the roadmap towards elections. He also said that we are committed to the restoration of statehood”, added Bukhari.
Further, Bukhari said that everyone was heard patiently by the Prime Minister.
“PM is a fatherly figure and he heard everyone patiently”, Bukhari said to reporters.
The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration is yet to speak about the meeting.
