The villagers in district Kulgam, beat an alleged thief to the extent that he succumbed while battling for life in SKIMS, Soura, after two days on Friday morning.
Abjdul Jabar Sheikh of Bolsoo, Kulgam was allegedly caught red handed while stealing cattle in the neighbouring village Kulpora, during the intervening night of July 29 and 30.
Jabar was caught and beaten by the residents of Kulpora, and he was seriously injured, police said.
Jabar was shifted to SKIMS, Soura in a very critical condition for treatment. The doctors tried their best to save Jabar, but they did not succeed and he lost the battle for his life on Friday Morning.
