Day after Former Chief Minster and union Minster Ghulam Nabi Azad hinted of entering into alliance with Peoples democratic party (PDP), Senior state Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil Wednesday said that people were not fully satisfied with the performance of the incumbent government and the voters would judge the parties on the performance in the forthcoming elections.

“The elections are a matter of months now. We have completed the term with NC, so let we complete the term and then decide which way to go.” Vakil told KNS on Wednesday.

He however said that while Azad was politically right in saying that the option of entering into alliance with any of the regional parties yet it was the party high command who would take a final call on it.

“Azad sahib said that we can go with any of the regional parties. He did not rule out any party, which is in my opinion a comfortable and right political statement.” Vakil who is considered as close aid of Azad said. He added that a coalition with PDP was never a closed chapter for congress.

“PDP’s option was always open.” Said vakil, adding ‘that he would even like to go alone in the elections. “ we are emerging a strong viable force in the state. In Ladakh and Jammu regions we are at Number 1, and we are hopeful of doing well in the Kashmir valley also.” Added Vakil.

Referring to the recently held council election for Kargil Hill Development Council, Vakil said that the people had voted for congress but it was the nomination made by National Conference that triggered controversy.

“You see we were almost routed in the previous elections there, but now we got the majority, that is an indication how fast congress is emerging in ladakh.” Said Vakil
