While strongly condemning the killing of Altaf Ahmad Wani at Saidpora Srinagar, National Conference’s provincial president Kashmir has termed it as a ‘cold blooded murder’.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Nasir said, “Altaf was a staunch supporter of J&K National Conference and was close associate of the Hon’ble Speaker Mubarak Gul.”

He said the antecedents of Altaf are very well known to the party and the party can vouch for the fact that he was never involved in any stone pelting incident and as such the party is convinced that he was innocent.

Nasir demanded a time bound judicial enquiry into the incident, “so that the CRPF personnel who opened fire killing this innocent person are brought to book.”

While expressing sympathies with the family, Nasir said that NC will ensure justice to the family and will stand by the dependents of the deceased.
