Expressing profound grief over the mysterious killing of a youth whose mutilated body was recovered by police this morning near Railway Bridge Peerbagh, MLA Amirakadal Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Thursday demanded a thorough probe into the incident.

In a statement to CNS, Bukhari expressed deep shock and grief over the unfortunate incident and extended his heartfelt sympathies and solidarity with the bereaved family.

“The police should probe the incident expeditiously and demystify the cause of death of Owais Bashir Malik whose throat-slit body has been recovered by police this morning,” Bukhari demanded.

Saying that the incident reflects the increasing prevalence of crime in the society which is alarming and unfortunate, Bukhari observed that the need of the hour is to integrate institutional and societal mechanisms to prevent the drift of young people towards crime especially such gruesome incidents.

He also emphasized on speedy probes into the incidents of crime so that justice is not delayed and culprits are brought to book without inflicting further pain on the victim families.

“The culprits in the Peerbagh incident need to be identified immediately so that a stringent punishment is given to them as is warranted under law,” he added.

Meanwhile, National Conference National Conference also demanded speedy probe into Owais Malik’s death.

NC condemned the tragic murder of a youth from Peer Bagh in Srinagar and demanded the culprits be brought to justice without any delay or complacency.

NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said he was grieved and shocked at the tragic murder of Owais Bashir Malik of Peer Bagh, Srinagar whose throat-slit and mutilated body was found near Railway Bridge, Peer Bagh. “I demand an immediate probe and that the culprits be brought to the book immediately. I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and stand in solidarity with them in this hour of shock, grief and devastation”, Nasir Aslam Wani said.
