Registering the first death during Amarnath Yatra 2016 which commenced Saturday morning, a Yatri has died at Baltal base camp in Ganderbal district.
Reports said that the Yatri was proceeding to Hindu holy cave in Kashmir Himalayas.
The deceased Yatri was identified as Vinod Kumar (52), s\o Chandarlal of Shastri Nagar Delhi. He had reached Baltal base camp Friday evening.
The reports said that Kumar expired early this morning.
Police are investigating cause of his death.
Meanwhile, Mughal road, which connects Kashmir valley with Pir Panjal valley, was closed early this morning after a major landslide hit the highway.
