In an interaction with reporters, he emphasised that the Amarnath Yatra serves as a testament to the spirit of brotherhood in the Kashmir Valley.

“They should witness how Muslims and Hindus support each other for the smooth conduct of the Yatra,” he stated.

When asked about the scarcity of water, electricity, and food grains, Dr. Abdullah acknowledged that these problems arise every year. He mentioned that although the scarcity of water is not severe at present, the government should address these concerns.

“As a member of the Parliamentary committee for food, we have appealed to the government to ensure sufficient restoration of food grain supplies,” he added.

He further explained that the impoverished individuals who work during the Amarnath Yatra period rely on it as a means of livelihood, using their earnings to sustain themselves during the winter months.

Dr. Abdullah declined to comment on the issue of elections when questioned—(KNO)
