SRINAGAR: A 40-year-old Amarnath pilgrim was found dead inside a bus parked outside the Yatra Niwas at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday.
Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that the deceased has been identified as Himat Batti alias Joga Singh, a resident of Punjab.
The pilgrim was found unconscious inside the parked bus by fellow yatris and staff members and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings. The exact cause of death is being ascertained, while further investigation is underway.
