SRINAGAR: Kashmir separraist leaders have condemned the attack in which six Amarnath yatris were killed in Butengoo in south Kashmir. The statement is being reproduced verbatim.
“The Joint Resistance leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the Killing of Amarnath Yatris in Anantnag today and strongly condemned it. JRL said that this incident goes against the very grain of Kashmiri ethos. The annual Amarnath Yarta has been going on peacefully for centuries and is part of our yearly rythm (possibly routine) and will remain so. The leadership said that our heart goes out to the families of the bereaved and we express our heartfelt condolences to them.”
