SRINAGAR: Amazon introduces the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship initiative in India. The programme primarily targets girls from underserved backgrounds, often identified as ‘First Generation Learners,’ aiming to facilitate their access to engineering, computer science, and related professional education. The deadline for application submission is December 31, 2023.
The initiative, a collaboration between Amazon and the Foundation for Excellence (FFE), a non-profit organization focusing on higher education scholarships, seeks to inspire young minds to pursue careers in Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Key eligibility criteria for prospective applicants include pursuing BE/BTech in Computer Science or allied branches, being in the first year of their undergraduate course, and having passed their qualifying examination after 2020 through state or national-level entrance exams. Additionally, candidates must hail from families with an annual income below INR 3,00,000.
Successful applicants stand to benefit from a scholarship amounting to INR 50,000 per year until graduation, a laptop in the first year of study, mentorship for tech careers, skill-building opportunities, networking prospects, and a chance to intern with Amazon.
To apply, candidates need to provide various documents, including Class 12 mark sheets, state or central entrance examination rank certificates, family income certificates, tuition/hostel/mess fees receipts, and more.
