Thousands of people on Saturday participated in funeral prayers of slain deputy chief of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind militant in Arampora village of Tral in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

Reports said that amid pro-freedom slogans thousands of people from various areas of Tral assembled in the native village of the slain militant Sualeh Aakhoon for the last rites. Reports said that mourners were shouting anti-governmental and pro-freedom slogans and-Islamic slogans during the funeral procession.

Earlier, Akhoon along with other five militants of AGH outfit were killed in a brief encounter with government forces in Arampora village of Tral.
