SRINAGAR: Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Saturday called for a temporary halt to political infighting among regional parties, citing the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
Posting on X, Lone said political discourse could wait, stressing the need for restraint. He said lakhs of students and traders outside Kashmir were feeling unsafe and added that “war clouds” and misleading online content were worsening fears.

“There are YouTubers in Kashmir trying to promote a narrative that shows Kashmiris as hostile. In such a time, accusations and counter-accusations among local parties are unwanted and undesirable,” Lone said.
He urged political leaders to pause politicking for at least a month. “Nobody is squeaky clean here. I too feel like responding. But not now,” he added.
