Amid wails, scores participate in funeral prayers of slain elderly man in Baramulla

Amid wails and cries, thousands of people, men and women, on Thursday took part in the funeral prayers of  Abdul Aziz Ahanger (60), an elderly man, who was crushed to death after a police vehicle (Rakshak) hit him on Wednesday evening at Delina area of Baramulla.

Abdul Aziz Ahangar 60, son of  Ghulam Ahmad Ahangar resident of Delina was hit by a police vehicle near Delina, Baramulla on Wednesday. He was taken to District hospital Baramulla where he succumbed to his injuries.

Local sources said that a large number of people attended his funeral prayers and pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised by the mourners during his funeral.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in the area to mourn the death of an elderly man and the authorities suspended the internet services and rail service in Baramulla as a  precautionary measure.
