SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that Jammu & Kashmir Police should now prioritise safeguarding citizen rights after making significant progress in controlling militancy and improving security conditions.

In a post on X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasised the importance of J&K Police focusing on citizen rights. Shah mentioned that he reviewed the implementation of three new criminal laws in J&K and directed their full execution in the Union Territory by April 2025.
The meeting was attended by LG Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, top officials of the Union Home Ministry, the J&K Home Secretary, and the J&K DGP.
