The review came hours after the Border Security Force (BSF) said it had foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border in Jammu, killing at least seven terrorists and destroying a Pakistan Rangers post, PTI reported.

Shah also assessed the measures taken to strengthen airport security. The BSF guards the border, while the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) oversees airports, Metro networks, and other critical installations.

The meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, and the Directors General of the BSF, CISF, and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.

Tensions escalated after Indian forces struck multiple targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. Pakistan’s attempted strikes on Indian military sites the next day were thwarted.
