Amit Shah’s visit may help Delhi understand ground situation better: Omar

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Kashmir would help the Delhi understand better the ground realities of the situation and the need to change its approach towards the state.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, Omar wrote, “After the two-day visit of the Union Home Minister to J&K, I hope there is a better understanding of the ground realities of the situation and the need to change the approach to the state.”

Shah, who continues to be the president of BJP, is currently on a two-day visit to Kashmir. He reached here on Wednesday and reviewed the overall security situation in the state including the arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath yatra.

In a series of meetings, Shah asked officials to ensure to incident-free Amarnath Yatra – starting on July 1, and better corruption-free governance.
