SRINAGAR: Anantnag Police has booked an alleged habitual fraudster under the Public Safety Act (PSA), citing concerns over his activities and their impact on public order.

The action has been taken against Tasaduq Hussain Dar, son of Ab. Gani Dar, a resident of Sadoora in Anantnag, after the District Magistrate, Anantnag, issued a detention warrant against him under the PSA.
Acting on the warrant, police apprehended Dar and completed the requisite legal and procedural formalities before lodging him in District Jail, Bhaderwah, under the provisions of the PSA.
According to Anantnag Police, the detention forms part of its ongoing efforts to maintain peace and public order and to curb the activities of habitual offenders whose conduct is considered detrimental to society.
Police described Dar as a “notorious fraudster” and said the action was aimed at preventing activities allegedly involving fraudulent practices and safeguarding the interests and security of the general public.
Anantnag Police said it would continue to take strict legal action against individuals whose activities are found to pose a threat to public order, peace and the safety and well-being of citizens.
