Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference has expressed profound grief over the death of Begum Meenu Nedou wife of Shams-ud-din Benji (Nedou) on Friday. She was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard at Tangmarg on Saturday. Hundreds of mourners participated in her Jinaza.
Begum Meenu was the maternal aunt of party president, Begum Khalidah Shah.
A condolence meeting chaired by the provincial president, Muhammad Lateef Khan, was held at the party’s Central Office here on Sunday. Apart from Khan, several leaders addressed the meeting.
The speakers paid rich tributes to the departed soul and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family, particularly her son, Fareed Nedou, Begum Khalidah Shah and senior vice-president, Muzaffar Shah.
Later, a delegation of party workers led by Khan and other leaders visited the residence of the late Begum Meenu to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
