Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE and Irrigation &Flood Control, Power Development, Industries & Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi on Wednesday visited different places to review the progress of various ongoing projects of Auqaf department in the winter capital of the State.

During his visit to Auqaf Boys Hostel behind Science College Jammu, the Minister took stock of construction works and facilities being provided to the inmate students. The Hostel provides accommodation to the students of far flung areas who come to Jammu city for pursuing higher education.

Farooq Andrabi was informed that the Hostel has capacity for accommodating 150 students. He was informed that the construction of pending works to provide improved facilities to the inmates are going on round the clock.

The Minister took a round of the Hostel and inspected the kitchen, dining hall, bedrooms, washrooms, parking area and surroundings of the building. He directed the concerned officials to finish the pending works within one month.

At Auqaf Palika Bazar Jammu, the Minister directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work and complete the project within the set deadline He also sought details of status of the work and funds incurred so far.

The Engineering wing involved in the Palika Bazar project presented a visual presentation of the blue print of the project and the final model of the project.

The Minister also visited Luthra old Auqaf Building at Wazarat Road Jammu. The Minster was informed that the building is in dilapidated condition and it requires early restoration.

The Minister directed the concerned for submitting a detailed report   for rebuilding it as a durable asset that will serve the community.

Earlier, Farooq Andrabi paid visit to Roshan Shah Wali Shaib (R.A) Shrine Gumat Jammu. The Minister went in and around the sacred premises and directed the concerned for some early reappears of the structure.

Special Officers Auqaf Jammu, Raj Mohammad Malik, Administrator Auqaf Jammu Wasim Raja, various Engineers and administrative officers also accompanied the Minister.
