SRINAGAR: Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar has finalised arrangements for worshippers and visitors at the historic central mosque for the sacred occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida. The decisions were taken during an important meeting of the Auqaf office bearers and members, chaired by Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq at the central office of the Auqaf.
It was decided that on the night of Shab-e-Qadr, Taraweeh prayers will begin at 10:00 PM, followed by a religious sermon by Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir and Shab Khani from midnight. The congregational Friday prayer on Jumat-ul-Vida will be held at 2:30 PM, with the Mirwaiz delivering his sermon from 12:45 PM. As in previous years, special arrangements have been put in place to facilitate worshippers, especially those coming from distant areas, ensuring their comfort at the mosque.
Mirwaiz instructed Auqaf officials and staff to diligently fulfil their responsibilities regarding electricity, water supply, cleanliness, and other necessary arrangements. The meeting also urged the civil administration to ensure uninterrupted power supply, availability of water, proper traffic management, and sanitation in and around the mosque during these blessed days.
Members and staff of Anjuman Auqaf reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the sanctity of Jamia Masjid and ensuring a smooth experience for worshippers. Devotees attending Jumat-ul-Vida prayers have been requested to bring their own prayer mats. Meanwhile, the series of sermons and religious lectures by Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir during Ramadan continues, with a religious gathering scheduled today at Masjid Sharif Al-Faruqia, Lachri Pora, Nowshera.
