SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police said an encounter broke out during wee hours on October 5, 2022 in Shopian.
The encounter is in progress between a mixed contingent of police and army at Moolu village. The details of the encounter are not known.

The Moolu encounter took place at a time when another encounter – that had taken place last night – was still in progress in Drach area of the same district.
The encounters are taking place at a time when Home Minister Amit Shah is in Srinagar on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He is scheduled to make a speech to a public rally in Baramulla.
