SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank lost another middle management officer to Covid19. Manzoor Ahmad Hamdani breathed his last in SKIMS during the wee hours on June 1.

Hamdani was 56 and currently the Director of RSETI Bandipore. After spending almost 13 years in the bank’s Board office – where he would handle the Annual General Meeting (AGM) – Hamdani was shifted to Ganderbal as RSETI Director. He had joined the bank in 1986. His colleagues remember him as someone with sober and helpful nature, besides being a professionally meticulous person.

His colleagues in the bank said he complained of fever around Eid and was shifted to hospital. He died after fighting for life for all these days. He was the cousin of the leading SKIMS pulmonologist, Dr Parvaiz Koul.

Bashir Ahmad Dar, a JK Bank official who died of Covid19

A resident of Sederbal in Srinagar, Hamdani basically belongs to Khanqah area of the Shehr-e-Khas. He belongs to a family that would perform the duty of Muazins’s at Khanqah.

Hamdani is survived by three sons, one of whom was selected as a clerk in the bank, and his wife. His colleagues have mourned his death.

The bank lost three officials to Covid19 in May, the killer month of the contagion ever since it flew to Kashmir. On May 26, Bashir Ahmad Dar, a banking associate, posted at Kachdoora branch in Shopian died of Covid19.  The 1971 born bank worker was a resident of Manzgam in Noorabad. dar had joined the bank in 1999. te other two were branch managers Sanjay Kundu and Imtiyaz Wani.
