Scores of students Saturday held protest demonstration at Kashmir’s highest seat of learning, University of Kashmir, condemning Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Mollah Abdul Qadir’s “unjustified” hanging in Bangladesh.

The students assembled in front of varsity’s Allama Iqbal Library and offered Nimaz-e-Jinaza in absentia for late Mollah Abdul Qadir.

Prominent Islamic figure and Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader, Mollah Abdul Qadir was hanged to death on Thursday night for alleged  war crimes.

Following the death of Mollah Abdul Qadir, Bangladesh witnessed wide spread protests. In Kashmir, people offered prayers at many places for the deceased after Friday prayers a day before on the call of senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.
