As the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani was busy meeting Pakistan High Commission, Abdul Basit in New Delhi, on Tuesday a number of people protested against him, however police intervened and arrested many of them.

Reports said that that some people were seen protesting against Geelani outside the Pakistan High Commission. In order to control the mob Delhi police detained some protesters, the reports said.

“We have been visiting Pakistan Embassy several times to hold talks, the decision to cancel foreign secretary-level talks is undemocratic,” Geelani said earlier on reaching Delhi.

Despite India’s tough stand, Geelani decided to go ahead with his scheduled meeting with the Pakistan High Commissioner in Delhi.

Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik are scheduled to meet Basit later in the day.
