Police had to use pellet and tear gas shelling to disperse protesting youth in Palhallan village of North Kashmir’s on Thursday resulting in serious injury to a youth. They were protesting Israeli aggression in Gaza.
“Youth defied restrictions which were enforced by cops in the area and resorted to protests,” a local said adding, “soon forces swung in to action and clashes started during which Masrat Ahmad Tantray of Raipora got injured.”
Locals who informed Kashmir Life said that Tantray was immediately shifted to Sumbal hospital. Meanwhile, clashes were on in the area when the reports last came in.
Reports from South Kashmir’s Islamabad district said that youth fought pitched battles with police in old town areas, including Cheeni Chowk, Malakhnag, Dangerpora, Mattan and Kadipora, among others.
The reports added that Israeli flags were torched in this south Kashmir town as people staged massive demonstrations against the Jewish nation.
