Hurriyat Conference (m) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday said that any move against the places of worship and the religious matter will be resisted strongly across Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, Mirwaiz wrote: “Concerned by Govt orders being circulated daily to create alarm among people, after the deployment of more forces. Any move against our places of worship and religious matters will be resisted strongly by all Muslims across the state. Do not deliberately vitiate the situation.”

On Monday, panic gripped Kashmir after a letter surfaced on social networking sites in which Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar, Haseeb Mughal asked five zonal SPs to provide details of masjids and their managements falling without their respective jurisdictions immediately for submission to higher authorities.

Earlier Railway Protection Force (RPF) asked the staff to store the ration for four months and to ensure the security of Railways property and of the employees.
