Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP), on Saturday, held a protest demonstration in summer capital Srinagar demanding to know the whereabouts of their disappeared kin subjected to enforced disappearance since 1989 across the state.

The family members of disappeared youth, mostly females during their silent-sit in at Pratap Park Srinagar castigated the successive governments for being indifferent towards their pain and agony.

“The government is not doing anything for them to trace their missing loved one,” said an elderly woman.” Adding that as per estimates of the APDP, over 10000 people have been disappeared in Kashmir since the inception of armed struggle in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the APDP also demanded the strict action against the people who raped and murdered an 8-year-old girl Asifa Banoo, a resident of Hiranagar Kathua.
