SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari criticised National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament for what he described as “political gimmickry,” following the MP’s announcement to stage a protest outside the residence of the NC leader and Chief Minister on Gupkar Road. The protest is was aimed at demanding fairness in the reservation policy.
Bukhari remarked that the MP’s actions, including an open letter addressed to his party leader in October and now a planned protest, display a lack of respect for the intelligence of the people. He said, “A Member of Parliament staging protests and writing open letters instead of speaking directly to his party leader shows a complete disregard for the common sense of the people.”
Labelling the Ruhullah’s actions as theatrical, Bukhari added, “The days of such political gimmickry are long gone. People are intelligent enough to distinguish between genuine efforts and theatrical actions.”
The Apni Party president urged the NC MP to reconsider his approach, stating, “Underestimating the intelligence of the people, which far exceeds your own, is both unwise and disrespectful.” According to Bukhari, such actions only undermine the seriousness of public concerns and reflect poorly on the political leadership involved.
