SRINAGAR: Apni Party president Syed Altaf Bukhari said on Saturday that his party will field candidates in 60 seats, including 40 in Kashmir and 20 in Jammu, for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the media while visiting Chanapora, Bukhari said that there will be no alliances with any party, citing their experience in the Lok Sabha elections.
“We will contest the assembly polls on our own and have decided against forming any alliances this time,” Bukhari said, adding that AP will field 40 candidates from Kashmir and 20 from the Jammu division.
He further claimed that the PDP and BJP are in a secret alliance with NC and Congress, suggesting that while some parties are openly forming alliances, others are doing so behind the scenes.
Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases—September 18, September 25, and October 1—with results to be declared on October 4.
