A fruit trader from Punjab was shot dead and another was injured by unknown gunmen in Trenz village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

An official said that a fruit trader identified as Charanjeet Singh a resident of Ferozpur Punjab was shot dead and another person identified as Sanjeev was injured in an attack by suspected militants in Shopian village.

He said they were shifted to district hospital Pulwama where from injured person was shifted to Srinagar.

Soon after the incident a search operation has been launched in the area to hunt down the attackers involved in this attack, said an police official.

Earlier today, a labourer Sethi Kumar Sagar, a resident of Besoli in of Chhattisgarh, worked at a brick kiln was killed in Pulwama.

On Monday, a man from Rajasthan who was driving a truck from an orchard was shot dead.
