Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh who paid tributes to the five army men killed on Tuesday morning on LoCby in the Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, cancelled his visit of Poonch.

“Army chief’s chopper was all set to fly but the weather did not allow so,” sources told Kashmir Life.

They added that after delaying the visit for some time, it was finally canceled due to thick clouds in the area.

Soon after his arrival from New Delhi, Gen Singh laid wreaths on the coffins at the Technical Airport in Jammu.

General Bikram Singh was to visit Poonch to review the security situation in the wake of the killing of the five Indian soldiers.

General Singh had also to visit the Division headquarters in Rajouri and the 93 Brigade headquarters to take stock of the security situation.

He had to meet the Commanding Officer and troops of the units whose personnel were killed in a Pakistan Border Area Team action, sources said.
