Army and Air Force air lifted critically ill patients from Gurez to Bandipora, a defence statement said Friday evening.
“On May 8, 14, a 12 years old boy Aftab Ahmed resident of village Bagtor, Gurez suffering from appendicitis, was evacuated to Bandipora by Air Force MI-17 for further medical treatment.”
“Earlier, on May 7, Dr Sameer Ahmed, aged 32 years, resident of village Acchura, Gurez who had developed severe chest pain was taken to nearest Army medical post and administered first aid. However, he did not show any sign of improvement. Army thereafter, arranged for helicopter to evacuate the patient to Bandipora for further medical treatment,” the statement added.
