IAF Fighter Aircraft Crashes in Central Kashmir

An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft crashed Monday morning in Soibug area of Central-Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A senior defense ministry official said that the fighter aircraft MIG-21 of 51 Squadron of air force crashed in the paddy fields at Soibug, Budgam. The aircraft got damaged in the incident. However, the pilot and co-pilot had a miraculous escape, the official said.

Meanwhile an enquiry has been initiated into the incident to ascertain the cause of the crash, the official added.
