Army man injured, 3 others injured as India, Pak armies exchange fire in Keran sector

An army man was killed and three others were injured in a ‘sniper fire’ by Pakistan Rangers at Keran sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district on Wednesday.

Reports said that Pakistan Rangers in opened the sniper fire at 5/9 GR unit of the army near ‘Pimple post’ in Keran sector along the LoC. Four army men were injured and airlifted to army’s 92-base hospital at Badamibagh in Srinagar.

One of the injured identified as Rajesh Khatri was declared brought dead by the doctors who attended upon him at hospital, reports said.

Army retaliated the fire and intermittent firing was going on in the area, reports added.
