An army soldier was killed in cross-border firing in Machil sector of frontier Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Saturday.
Reports said that the Pakistan army targeted Indian posts along the Line or Control (LoC) in Machil sector of Kupwara.
They said that Indian troops retaliated to the firing. However, a soldier was killed and another injured in the firing exchange.
The slain soldier was identified as Lance Naik Rajender Singh of 57 RR army.
