Residents of Mowpora, village in Bandipora district held protests Wednesday, against army alleging that RR personnel beat them without any provocation.

North Kashmir is voting for Lok Sabha election today amidst tight security arrangements.

Locals alleged that they were on way to cast their vote when an army ordered his men to beat them without any reason.

Protests were going on when the reports last came in.

Meanwhile, the residents of Palhalan told Kashmir Life that they heard a blast near the polling station situated at Higher Secondary School Palhalan.

However, police spokesman told Kashmir Life that police recovered some explosive in the area which was later defused.

Sources said that it was a bang of grenade. They added that a CRPF man was injured in the blast.
