Army is starting domination of areas by increased patrolling to provide overall security to Panches and  Sarpanches. It was announced by Lieutenant General Om Prakash, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15th corps.

Speaking on the sidelines of a sports event Lt.General Om Prakash said, “Domination by increased patrolling in vulnerable areas is being undertaken to provide overall security to the elected village heads”.

Lt Gen Prakash, who is also the security advisor to the state government added,“It is the duty of all of us including the people to ensure security to the panches and sarpanches”.

On the recent shoot out near a local hotel, he said, “the state police is tracking them down and I am sure those behind the attack would soon be tracked down”.

He also said that army has stepped up vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) to thwart infiltration attempts from across the border before the ensuing winter.

Lieutenant General 15th corps, said, “the enemy has been trying to increase infiltration bids from across the borders in autumn months before the mountain passes get blocked due to heavy snowfall each winter.”

“I assure you that our troops are always alert to thwart such infiltration bids,” added Lt Gen Prakash.
