Army on Friday resorted to aerial firing to disperse protesters who were protesting and pelting stones on them to prevent them from entering a forest area in Tral area of Pulwama district where gunshots were heard earlier today.

Reports said that youth took to streets, pelted stones on forces and blocked their way leading to Channad forest of Pastuna village of Tral.

Army personnel fired shots in the air to disperse the protesters.

Earlier, forces launched a search operation and took help of choppers after gunshots were heard in the forest area in Tral area.

Local reports said that gunshots were heard early Friday morning.
