SRINAGAR: A soldier posted at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar has allegedly taken his own life using his service rifle.
The deceased has been identified as Satyajeet Kandhol, a resident of Panipat, Haryana. He was serving with the 20 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) E Company at the time of the incident.
According to initial reports, the soldier shot himself, though the reasons behind his extreme step remain unclear.
An inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. (KNT)
