SRINAGAR: An army trooper was killed in a mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mandi area of Poonch district on Monday.
Officials informed local news agency GNS that during patrolling along the LoC, an army soldier accidentally stepped on a mine, triggering the blast.
In the incident, one soldier (Havildar) identified as Subaish, 39, was critically injured. He was immediately evacuated to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway. (GNS)
