An army man was killed in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday evening.
A police officer said that the army’s 57 RR was on a routine patrol duty at Gulab Post near Lasdat area adjacent to Jat Gali area along the LoC when the landmine blast took place.
“In the incident, the army man sustained multiple splinter injuries and was taken to military hospital Drugmulla where he succumbed later,” he said.
An army officer based in Kupwara also confirmed the death due to the explosion. The officer identified the deceased as Rifleman Dalbir Singh (27). (GNS)
