The army Saturday evening issued a statement regarding the “encounter” which, arm y said, started Friday early morning which read:
In the ongoing operation which beat back an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the forested area near Torna, where in one terrorist was eliminated on 03 July 2015 and one Army trooper made the supreme sacrifice. Contact was again established with the terrorists hidden in the forested area in the morning hours today, resulting in elimination of one more terrorist, taking the total to two terrorists eliminated. Three AK-47 and three rucksacks was also recovered from his site of the operation. As per last reports, operation is still in progress.
