Four people were injured after speedy army vehicle hit an auto load carrier near Dangerpora Sumbla.an area of Bandipora district on Tuesday. Among the injured, two are stated to be critical
According to reports, load carrier was driven by Mohammad Maqbool of Nowgam Sumbal when army vechle hit the load carrier and flew from the spot, which left four person injured. As soon as accident took place, it trigged protest in the area and protesters shouted pro freedom and anti-Army slogans.
Police identified injured as Mohammad Maqbool, Shabir Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad and Nisar Ahmad. The injured were rushed to JVC Bemina for treatment.
Angry protesters blocked Bandipora-Srinagar Highway for an hour and were demanding justice to the injured against the army vehicle driver.
The police party pacified the protesters and assured them they will look into the matter and will also seek compensation from army for the damaged load carrier.
“We will look into the matter an also we have registered hit and run case, the army convoy was moving from Bandipora to Srinagar,” said SHO Sumbal Mehboob Banday.
