SRINAGAR: General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Doraisamy Raja, on Thursday said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana are likely to reject the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the CPI state conference in Hanamkonda, Telangana, Raja cited widespread discontent over the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and anger over the Modi government’s agricultural laws in Haryana.
Raja said that Jammu and Kashmir residents remain opposed to the BJP rule and the removal of Article 370.
He also criticised the BJP-led Central government for its lack of support for Vinesh Phogat during the Paris Olympics, accusing the Centre of negligence that led to her missing out on a medal.
Raja further condemned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP, claiming they were acting against the interests of the common people and accusing the NDA government of being guided by the RSS.
