Several rounds of funeral prayers were offered to the four slain militants killed in an encounter with government forces in Arwini area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district last night.

According to reports, thousands of people including women and children attended the funeral prayers of slain militants in Arwani, Hawoora, Watoo Aharbal and Damhal Hanjipor villages of south Kashmir amid anti-India and Pro-Pakistan sloganeering.

They said that multiple rounds of funeral prayers were offered to Owais Lone of Hizbul Mujahideen and Muzamil Magray and Amir Tantray of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. Amidst vociferous slogans, all the slain militants were laid to rest.

A large number of people, reports said, also attended funeral prayers of Hizb militant Sahir Makroo at Arwani.

Four militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Arwani area of Bijbhera in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

Meanwhile, all shops and other business establishments remained closed in the south Kashmir parts to mourn the killings.
