By forecasting light to moderate showers Wednesday, the Met department’s weather prediction has apparently renewed flood threat in valley where Jhelum has so far maintained steady course.

“Western Disturbance is persisting over J&K,” says Sonam Lotus, the celebrated weatherman of valley and Director MeT (Kashmir).

Lotus predicted more rainfall by evening. “Tonight is crucial for the Valley,” he says.

By noon, the Jhelum was flowing well below the danger mark. At Ram Munshi Bagh (Srinagar), its level was 15 feet and 12 feet at Sangam (Islamabad).
